TEACHER PROFILE
"What we are teaches the child more than what we say,
so we must be what we want our children to become." -Joseph Chilton Pearce
Robert (Bob) Driver, Teacher K-2
Bob brings a wealth of experience within the field of education in the North County of San Diego. He is successful in reaching and teaching children with a variety of learning modalities and has an understanding of multiple intelligence levels offering differential instruction for each child.
Bob's Educational Philosophy
Teaching is an awesome responsibility, which I take seriously and enthusiastically. I think of myself as a gardener and my students as flowers which I nurture, fertilize and cultivate with unconditional love and commitment. This can assist them in blossoming to their full potential, ultimately becoming positive, contributing members of society.
I have a casual style but maintain a consistent, organized classroom with loving firmness. I recognize the importance of always being a positive role model. Children learn best and have better retention when lessons are fun, engaging and tied to positive feelings. I clearly aim to set up my students to be successful often to make learning beneficial, exciting, empowering and engaging. I use clear instructions and repeat detailed modeling as necessary.
It is my feeling that parent and community involvement greatly increase a student’s success. Frequent parent communication and strong, respectful collaboration is key to facilitating a child’s education.
I consider myself a life-long truth seeker and lead a spiritually based life. My children and myself have attended SRF for over 10 years. All of my adult brothers and sisters and their families have been active and supportive members of Seaside Church of which I also attend. I have read or studied most of Yogananda’s works, the Bible, and many other spiritual or philosophical literatures. I strive to spread love, joy and self-esteem.
"It is the supreme art of the teachers to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." -Albert Einstein
